This is a list of Latin and alternative names of herbs used in many areas of the African diaspora, but mainly those in African-Latinx medicine and mysticism.  Some of the slang or common names may apply to multiple plants with similar uses because of local availability.

For those out there who are independent, please remember that though these plants all have their own Ashe and spirit parents, they are not always automatically humane.  To get the most from a plant, you must treat this venture with the same respect as getting to know and work with any other force of Nature.  Be on good terms with Osanyin or his equivalent or brother-deity in your pantheon as well as the Mama, Papa, or Xaxa of the plant.
