Musician Mojo Bag

Musicians and singers sometimes need a boost of charisma, to fight stage-fright, and a little help getting ahead in the business.  This mojo bag assists with that.

You will need:

• a red cloth or leather bag
• a piece of jet
• 3 coffee beans
• 5 brass coins
• a back scute (spike) from a male alligator, try to get one of the sharper, bonier ones
• a dried poppy flower or a teaspoon of poppy seeds
• a bit of sassafrass
• a piece of master root
• some token willingly given by a musician you admire, such as a used reed, guitar pick, worn out pad, etc.

Instructions

Give sufficient offerings to Eshu and Oshun before or shortly after the consecration and blessing of the charm.

Light some incense for Eshu, and greet him properly.

Mark your cloth with the sign of Eshu, and then pass it through the smoke, asking him to open the way for your/your client’s success in their musical ventures.

Mindfully add the jet to embody Eshu, specifically for their protection from “evil eye” and while working in dangerous places full of intoxicated people.

Add the coffee beans, for added Eshu energy and to keep them awake, fresh, and alert during the late nights.

Now add some incense for Oshun to the charcoal or burner.

Add the coins for Oshun and so they make lots of money.

Add the back scute for Oshun and the primal/reptilian male energy and so that like the male alligator vibrates water over his back scutes to attract females to mate, you attract listeners with your music.

Add the poppy seeds so that they become high from your music, and want to hear it often.  Your music will ease their pain and bring them joy.

 Add the sassafras for Oshun and to smoothen the voice.

Add the master root for charisma and the ability to work the crowd.

Finally, add the token from the admired musician so that you will carry and the charm will amplify their wishes for your success and growth as a performer.

You may add other things, but avoid additions that would be overly calming or obscuring.  No mint, eucalyptus, rosemary or the like.  You may add things that contain sweeter coumarins, such as vanilla, tonka bean, deer’s tongue, etc.  You can go as far as basil for more money attraction, but be sparing with this.  No more than a pinch.

You may also add other items specific to the type of performing the person does, such as a rooster beak for a male singer, a peacock feather tip for one who needs a boost of confidence or may need help in the image department.  Know your client and add accordingly.

Close the bag or cloth and sew it securely shut, and close the ceremony thanking Eshu and Oshun.  Some prefer to sew the back scute on the outside and make a pendant of it.  Some also prefer to use frog or toad skin as a wrapper because they also sing to attract mates.

The musician should carry this on their person during performances, and keep it with their instrument or supplies when they are not performing.

As they are blessed, they should give reasonable offerings to maintain the energy.  Generally, this would be done every three to five months or so.
